Two kinds of Urdu text

InPage text is what you get when you copy from InPage: private codes that only InPage turns into Urdu, so elsewhere they look like ‚ ¤ Ž and similar symbols. Unicode Urdu is the international standard used by phones, WhatsApp, Facebook, Word and websites. Most "my Urdu is broken" problems come from having one kind where the other is needed.

Two today: InPage text (what you get when you copy from InPage 2 or 3) and standard Unicode Urdu (what phones, WhatsApp, Word and websites use). Older legacy encodings used by some Urdu news websites are on our list for a later version.

How does auto-detect work?خودکار پہچان کیسے کام کرتی ہے؟

It counts characters. Unicode Urdu is made of letters in the Arabic block of Unicode. InPage text is made of control codes and Latin symbols such as ‚ ¤ Ž. Whichever kind is in the majority decides the direction, and the label above the output tells you which one was picked.

یہ حروف گنتا ہے۔ یونیکوڈ اردو عربی بلاک کے حروف سے بنتی ہے اور ان پیج کا متن لاطینی نشانات سے۔ جس قسم کے حروف زیادہ ہوں، اسی حساب سے سمت طے ہوتی ہے اور نتیجے کے اوپر لکھا نظر آتا ہے۔

What if detection is wrong?اگر پہچان غلط ہو جائے تو؟

Use the direction buttons above the text boxes to force InPage → Unicode or Unicode → InPage. That choice stays until you clear the box. A text that mixes a few InPage symbols into mostly English can be misread; the dedicated converter pages never guess.
