How to type
- Click in the text area and type on your normal keyboard; each key gives the Urdu letter shown on the keyboard below.
- Hold Shift for the second letter on a key: Shift+T for ٹ, Shift+D for ڈ, Shift+N for ں.
- On a phone, tap the keys of the on-screen keyboard.
- Copy the text, download it, or press "Convert to InPage".

Phonetic typing rules
In Phonetic mode you type Urdu the way you would in a Roman Urdu WhatsApp message, and each word is written in Urdu script as you go. Common words such as hai, mein, nahi and kuch are recognised whole. For other words these rules apply:

Short vowels inside a word (the a in kab, the i in dil) are not written, as in normal Urdu. When a word comes out wrong, press Backspace and fix the letter; the suggestion row under the text offers common spellings.
Practice mode and typing tests
Practice mode gives you one of five Urdu passages: a news report, a letter, an Islamic text, a government notice and a short piece of prose. Type it in the box. Correct letters stay dark, mistakes are underlined in red, and the bar shows words per minute, accuracy and time. Pick 1, 5 or 10 minutes; composing and data-entry tests usually run for 10.
For speed, learn the home row first (A S D F G H J K L gives ا س د ف گ ح ج ک ل), keep your eyes on the passage, and correct mistakes only at the end of a word.

Two. "InPage layout" follows the InPage phonetic keyboard, where each Urdu letter sits on the English key that sounds like it: a for ا, b for ب, Shift+T for ٹ. "Phonetic" lets you type whole words in Roman Urdu, such as urdu or khush, and turns them into اردو and خوش.
دو۔ "ان پیج لے آؤٹ" میں ہر اردو حرف اسی انگریزی کی پر ہے جس کی آواز ملتی ہے، جیسے a سے ا اور Shift+T سے ٹ۔ "فونیٹک" میں آپ رومن اردو میں پورا لفظ لکھتے ہیں اور وہ اردو میں بدل جاتا ہے۔

Yes. Tap the keys of the on-screen keyboard under the text area; each tap adds the letter shown on the key. Use the Shift key on the on-screen keyboard for ٹ, ڈ, ڑ, ں and the other second-layer letters. For long texts a phone Urdu keyboard such as Gboard is quicker.

How is typing speed (WPM) counted?ٹائپنگ کی رفتار کیسے گنی جاتی ہے؟
Practice mode counts five typed characters, spaces included, as one word, which is the usual standard for typing tests. Accuracy is the share of characters that match the passage. Wrong characters are underlined in red as you go, and the timer starts on your first key press.

Nothing is sent. Your keystrokes are turned into Urdu inside the browser. The text is kept only as a draft in this browser's own storage, so it is still there if you reload the page. Press "Clear draft" to remove it.
